Gary began taking Iyengar yoga classes and developed a home practice in 1986. He began teaching in 1990 and has been teaching regularly ever since.
He is a Level 2 (intermediate) Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher with 800 hours of teacher training and over 14,000 hours of teaching experience. He is also certified with the International Association of Yoga Therapists. Gary’s an expert in therapeutics because of his training, and because he has personally recovered from 12 surgeries. Shoulders are his specialty, and he also works privately with students with neck, back, hip, knee, ankle, foot, and breathing problems.
Gary’s teaching style is precise, with attention to details of alignment and action for maximum benefit. He promotes enthusiasm in the physical postures so students are enabled to enjoy the activities they love. He also teaches pranayama (energy/breath control) and meditation in his classes.
Gary loves spending time in the mountains hiking, camping, and skiing.
