Vinyasa Yoga is a style of yoga that is practiced linking conscious breath with rhythmic fluid movement. Because you transition from one pose to the next in vinyasa flow, you increase your heart rate and make your body work harder for a longer period of time, even though you're moving at a lower intensity. The cardiovascular and lymphatic systems greatly benefit from vinyasa yoga.
Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that focuses on slow, deep stretching and holding postures for extended periods of time, typically between three to five minutes. By emphasizing stillness and mindful relaxation, Yin Yoga targets the deeper connective tissues such as fascia, ligaments, and joints. As a result, this practice cultivates increased flexibility, improved energy flow, and enhanced mental clarity. The parasympathetic nervous system benefits significantly from Yin Yoga, promoting a sense of inner calm and balance.
Ashtanga Mysore-style yoga is a self-paced, individualized practice in a group setting. This class format allows you to move at your own pace guided and supported by an experienced teacher. Students are working on the same sequence of postures but your practice is tailored to where you are each at. This style is a very dynamic and athletic form of hatha yoga. While it is a very physical practice, it also promotes mental clarity and inner peace.
